FocusForge Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how FocusForge (“the app”) handles information when you use our iOS productivity application.

FocusForge is a personal focus timer. Your focus sessions, statistics, milestones, and coin balance are stored on your device. We do not operate a FocusForge cloud account that syncs your focus data to our servers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertisements in the app.

2. Information You Provide or Generate

Depending on how you use the app, information may include:

Device identifier — a random install identifier generated on first launch and stored in the device Keychain to scope local data on this device. FocusForge does not require Sign in with Apple or any user account;
Display name — optional name used on exported certificate PDFs;
Focus session data — planned duration, actual duration, completion status, pause count, focus tags, and onboarding demo session flags;
Statistics and milestones — daily aggregates, streaks, milestone unlock records, and certificate export history;
Forge Shop data — coin balance, unlock selections (celebration packs, timer themes, tag icon packs, premium certificate templates, Focus Quest packs), and a local coin transaction log; and
Preferences — default focus length, notification settings, applied themes, and onboarding completion.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Limited technical information may be processed by Apple or iOS when you use the App Store, StoreKit purchases, or system services. That can include device type, operating system version, app version, and purchase transaction metadata handled by Apple.

3.1 App analytics and attribution (AppsFlyer)

FocusForge uses AppsFlyer, a third-party mobile measurement partner, to understand how users discover the app (for example, which marketing campaigns lead to installs) and to measure basic in-app events such as onboarding completion, focus session starts, and coin transactions.

Depending on your choices and device settings, AppsFlyer may receive:

Device identifiers — such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) if you allow tracking, or other device-level identifiers permitted by Apple when you do not;
Install and app-open signals — to attribute an install or re-engagement to a campaign source;
Product interaction events — limited event names and parameters we send (for example, session started, coins added) to measure product usage trends in aggregate; and
Technical metadata — app version, OS version, and general device information needed for analytics.

AppsFlyer processes this data under its own privacy policy: AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.

Your focus session content, display name, certificate PDFs, and detailed local statistics are not uploaded to AppsFlyer. Only the limited event signals described above may be sent.

3.2 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On supported iOS versions, FocusForge requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework when you first open the app. This permission controls whether the app may access the IDFA for cross-app attribution.

If you Allow tracking, AppsFlyer may use the IDFA for campaign attribution as described above.
If you Ask App Not to Track, FocusForge still works fully. AppsFlyer may use privacy-preserving, Apple-approved alternatives where available, but IDFA-based cross-app tracking will not be used.

You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

We do not collect precise location for core features. Optional photo access is not required for core timer functionality.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide focus timing, statistics, milestones, and certificate export;
Process and display in-app purchases of consumable coin packs through Apple;
Send optional local notifications on your device (for example, when a focus session ends);
Measure marketing effectiveness and improve how people discover FocusForge (via AppsFlyer, subject to your tracking choices); and
Maintain app security and troubleshoot issues you report.

5. Storage and Retention

Focus data is stored in the app sandbox on your device. Focus sessions and personal progress are not synced to our servers. Uninstalling the app or using Delete All Data in Settings permanently removes local FocusForge data on that device.

Analytics and attribution data retained by AppsFlyer is governed by AppsFlyer’s retention practices and your tracking choices.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information only:

With Apple as necessary for in-app purchases;
With AppsFlyer for install attribution and aggregated product analytics, as described in Section 3.1 and subject to your ATT choice;
When you choose to export or share a certificate PDF through the system share sheet; and
If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

7. Children

FocusForge is a general productivity app rated 4+. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Choices

Tracking (ATT) — allow or deny cross-app tracking when prompted, or change your choice later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking;
Notifications — disable local notifications in iOS Settings or in-app Settings;
Delete All Data — permanently removes all local FocusForge data on this device and returns you to onboarding.

9. Security

We use industry-standard device protections provided by iOS. No method of storage is 100% secure; please use a device passcode.

10. International Users

FocusForge is offered in English for users in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Data processed on your device is subject to the laws of your jurisdiction. AppsFlyer may process analytics data in accordance with its global infrastructure and privacy program.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last Updated” date will change, and continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
